Annabelle Johnson and James Edward Weight Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary

Christmas Day will be the cause for double celebration by Mr. and Mrs. James E. Weight, when they hold "open house" at their home, 1492 East Twenty-First South Street, on the occasion otheir golden wedding anniversary. Friends are invited to call Sunday between 6 and 10 p.m. The couple were married in Springville, Dec. 25, 1888, and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Their four children who are expected to aid them in observing the day are: Leon M. Weight of Provo, Royden E. and Burtram A. Weight and Mrs. Della Phillips of Salt Lake. Mr. Weight, who has been a guard at the Utah State Prison since April, 1917, has long been active in state and city affairs. He was born in Springville, March 18, 1867, a son of Frederick H. and Mary Milns Weight. He has served as a road supervisor, water master and city marshal for three terms. He also has served in the Sunday School superintendency of the Springville Fourth Ward. Mrs. Weight, born, Annabelle Johnson in Springville, Nov. 25, 1870, is a daughter of Bishop Aaron and Sarah James Johnson. Her father, a descendant of the first colonizers of America, was a leader in Springville civic affairs, and one of its first settlers. Mrs. Weight always has been active in Church work.
